He says that they will need a new Demon Stone one could be found in the possession of the Yuan-ti people. The three escape from the warlords and decide to join forces to imprison them again.Īfter evacuating the nearby wood-elf village of Cedarleaf, attacked by Cireka and her Githyanki soldiers, they visit Illius' mentor, Khelben Blackstaff, for advice. Inside the mines, they accidentally release the warlords Ygorl and Cireka from their imprisonment in a Demon Stone. Ultimately, Rannek, Zhai, and Illius are driven into the nearby Gemspark Mines by a dragon, Caminus. As he comes to the aid of wood elves captured by the orcs, a half-drow, half-elf named Zhai and a sorcerer named Illius join the battle. Salvatore wrote the game's script, which begins with Rannek, a human fighter, stumbling across a battle between two orc armies. The three heroes must undo their mistake by joining forces to right the wrong they caused. Once there, they unwittingly release Ygorl and Cireka from the Demon Stone and into the world. A great red dragon, sent by Ygorl, leads the group to these mines. The story develops as the three heroes battle two orc armies near the jewel-rich Gemspark Mines. Fearing that the realm would be at the mercy of whichever villain was victorious, the great mage Khelben Blackstaff sealed them both within a Demon Stone. ![]() The game's introduction explains that the only thing keeping each of them from taking over the realm is their hatred of each other. Cireka, general of the Githyanki, is the second. The first villain-Ygorl-is the leader of the Slaad army. The two villains are equally enemies of the heroes and of each other. ![]() There are three playable characters in Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone, each with his or her own unique abilities: the fighter Rannek, is a master of melee combat the sorcerer Illius, can cast spells over long range and a half-drow, half-wood-elf rogue named Zhai easily vanishes into the shadows before sneaking up on her enemy for the kill.

We would return but call to ask about these much needed facility upgrades first. ![]() Chicken on one salad was really tough and sent back. We enjoyed fish tacos, salads, burger is outstanding. As a result, we went elsewhere on two occasions. CRAZY that with limited bar seating, they allow children (with parents) to sit at the bar instead of paying adult customers - while there was plenty of table seating for families. Again, staff was wonderful, especially Brian at the bar. Limited menu and not cheap but we ate here 3 times during our stay. Roost - the only restaurant operating during our stay due to COVID. No instructions for operation of indoor hot tub and no staff working to ask. Rusted metal around the hot tub waterfall. That does not represent a serious spa environment and if there are staffing issues, we should have been notified in advance with an option to preschedule. Spa services - Upon ARRIVAL there were only 2 25 min massage appointments available during our 5 night stay. We robbed coffee from the spa most mornings like the other guests. At a time when COVID robs us of in lobby coffee stands, in room coffee has to be a focus. Coffee maker - Keurig style but much smaller portion cups and therefore, European style coffee mugs. Moisture problem in the bath and as a result, peeling paint and worn wood on the back of the bathroom door. Room overheats easily with independent fan unit. Huddling around a laptop doesn't cut it today. For $199/night every room should have a smart tv in order to stream our services as we would like. The property is well maintained and clean but it has become very dated in some aesthetics and facility grade. The staff was lovely, the food was overall very good but there were things that really disappointed us. ![]() We visited Topnotch for 5 nights culminating on Easter Day. ![]() which is fine by me but perhaps not so helpful if you are trying to produce a photography website.įor my part, I think Canon makes excellent tools for photography. Compared to companies like Sony and Nikon, Canon is a little slower and more deliberate with its new models, and often they don't seem to have specs which immediately sound exciting. ![]() In fact, even just lamenting the fact that Canon "still lags" in some way is probably helpful in generating hits. which gives DPR plenty of things to write about in an "exciting" (ie hit inducing) way, whether by saying how fantastic some new thing is, or even just talking about some new product even if they aren't that impressed by it. Those companies introduce new models relatively frequently, they tend to throw in "new technology" each time, and Sony's Exmor sensor has been measurably better for low ISO DR. In that context, it is not so hard to see why DPR seems biased against Canon, and towards Sony and Nikon. Also, they have an obvious interest in generating hits for their website, and I assume also in having people buy products via links on DPR. However, from what I have read (and admittedly I haven't read much recently - I gave up on DPR a while ago) they seem more interested in the technology than photography. My theory is DPR isn't intentionally biased. Roger, on the other hand, is giving his professional opinion (he is not a paid reviewer) of the empirical data he personally measures, along with that data, and his work does not rely on the good grace, sales, nor advertising dollars of the camera companies, unlike DPR. Hopefully first they will produce a brilliant M camera to show the way.Ģ/ People say DPR are biased because what they write is easily shown to be biased, and the 'examples' they post to illustrate Canon 'issues' are complete falsifications. I believe Canon will be able to produce a brilliant mirrorless full frame camera. I like the ability to view the photograph after it's taken through the view finder. I'm looking forward to Canon's first attempt at it in full frame. Because the mirror is a mechanical moving part I presume at some point it will be consigned to history. Sony are really pushing the forefront of technology with their cameras but don't (as yet) have the same range of glass.įrom this article I got the impression that the Canon Mount has a great potential for mirrorless than Sony. My personal favourite is Bryan at the Digital Picture but there are many good ones out there.Ĭanon do so well partially because they have such a fantastic range of lens to go with rock solid cameras. They tend to be the personal view of the reviewer and are just one source of information. I've read many DPR reviews and found them to be pretty reasonable in their comments in terms of praise and criticism of particular cameras. ![]() I couldn't see it to be in their interest at all to be biased. As far as I know its owned by Nikon or Sony. You might not agree with their methods or what they look for in a camera but I couldn't see why they would have any reason to be biased at all. I can't see why DPR would be biased at all. Only one thing should be kept at the forefront of all our minds with regard to topics like these, shoot what is best for you. All the arguing for one side or the other is merely an exercise in futility. I am also not opposed to one day picking up another Canon or other branded DSLR if there is to come a body I feel compelled enough to use over what I have in the bag now. This is precisely why although I no longer own a DSLR, I still use numerous Canon DSLR lenses. Canon is still the most reliable company out there offering the widest range of products in their ecosystem and backing the entire line with highly regarded support. But that doesn't mean that I feel other people should make the same decision. I for one got rid of my last Canon DSLR months ago as I just didn't feel it gave me what I needed as much as my mirrorless rigs. It all goes back to the sayings "horses for courses," and "different strokes for different folks." There are obvious advantages and conversely, disadvantages to both platforms and only the shooter can determine for themselves which one is best suited to their needs. Not really sure why we have gotten into the dogma of either having to choose one side or the other. Arc Studio Pro has many feature concepts in common, but with expanded functionality and scope in order to promote creativity and serve the very specific needs demanded by the screenplay format. ![]() Arc Studio Pro – Google Docs For ScreenwritersĪrc Studio Pro owes a debt to the efficient, attractive design of Google Docs, and strives to deliver a similarly clean, confident experience tailor made for screenwriters. Using Fountainize, Google Docs may generate a relatively accurate approximation of a plaintext file, but it does not guarantee smooth conversation across screenwriting platforms. In addition to these issues, Google Docs suffers issues of margination inconsistency, font limits, and does not provide native file sharing in formats recognized by the screenwriting apps more commonly used across the industry. Without automated, predictive formatting, a Google Docs user must continually update their unformatted script portions and risk losing their stopping point. Automated formatting also provides predictive character name options so that the writer need not type out the entire name in every instance. Automated formatting mitigates small errors in real time, while a formatting error can become easily lost in a large document. Without automated formatting, screenwriting with Google Docs lacks important advantages. Without the natural guidance of a screenwriting-dedicated software, a writer must either be knowledgeable about format, or self-educate in its application so as to produce text that Fountainize recognizes. Even existing conventions, such as a capitalized slugs (including short location slugs or shots) can result in incorrect margination, and because they are embedded in the script, may be overlooked - errors that can show up in documents intended for showcase or marketing.Ī capitalized slugs can result in incorrect margination Intuition and Format Onboardingīecause Google Docs does not use real-time intuitive formatting, it is extremely difficult for a writer new to screenwriting to learn quickly how to write a formatted screenplay. Screenwriters often make creative formatting choices that defy the basic conventions, and those choices that can interrupt apps like Fountanize when attempting to integrate them into the margination defaults. Optimization of the process can only really be achieved with dedicated formatting. Screenwriting is unique, blending compositional process with structure, and therefore achieving flow is extremely difficult. There is something lost in the gap between keyboard and on-screen formatting when limited by extra steps. StructureĪchieving structure is the salient challenge with screenwriting with Google Docs. While it is possible to create a screenplay using Google Docs, there are several limitations that can make it more stressful and time consuming than necessary throughout your day. Limitations of Screenwriting with Google Docs In this respect, collaboration tools in Google Docs include the ability to track changes made by individual writers. Google Docs supports powerful collaborative functions, which are often necessary when writing screenplays with a partner, or within the context of a writers’ room, where multiple writers must be accountable for the production of the document. ![]() It is possible to write a screenplay using Google Docs, but for every additional step, the process and flow is interrupted, something that can result in a more frustrating writing experience and affect productivity. If the document is lengthy, the application of Fountanize can also include a time delay. This requires the screenwriter to manually indicate each element in order for the Fountanize function to read and adjust the margins of the text, and requires re-application as more text is written. Instead, the writer has to use a third-party extension ( Fountanize is the most notable example) to cast screenplay text into an accepted standard screenplay formatting. There is no real-time direct format extension. This article will cover the major components necessary to write in the in the correct screenplay format using Google Docs, and discuss how Google Docs can achieve the necessary end results - and how Arc Studio builds on that principle. ![]() Screenwriting with Google Docs is possible, with a few additional steps. Its applications are many, its functions are reliable and flexible, and the interface is accessible and clean. Google Docs is one of a collection of powerful apps created for the Google Drive suite, and has rightly taken its place as one of the widely used word processors on the internet. ![]() Gold futures are used both as a way for gold producers and market makers to The gold futures market is one of a number of commodity futures, wherein contracts are entered into, agreeing to buy or sell gold at a certain price at a specified future date. Vitamix A3500 Ascent Series Smart Blender Review This blender is on the louder end of the spectrum, but we didn't consider that to be a dealbreaker. Peanut butter and other oily substances may require an additional scrub, but overall, we thought cleaning couldn't be easier. While it's not dishwasher-safe, it's simple to fill the blender jar with warm, soapy water and run the cleaning cycle. We even used the blender to turn the whipped cream into butter, which turned out perfectly, as well. We were thoroughly impressed with its ability to blend smoothies, iced lattes, rice flour, and even whipped cream. If you know you'll be frequently blending up small quantities, there is a compatible 32-ounce container sold separately that will be best suited for those recipes. When it came to making peanut butter, we found that the wide and large container is best suited for larger batches. This excelled in our tests, blending an aerated smoothie with a very smooth texture. ![]() The tamper, which is included with all Vitamix blenders, is designed to move food around without getting in the way of the blades, so it can be used when the blender is running.
